The Royals host South Yorkshire side Doncaster Rovers on Saturday looking to pick up their second win on the bounce following Tuesday’s victory over Northampton Town.

Doncaster have had a mixed start to life back in League One after winning League Two last season, winning five of their first seven games before embarking on their current winless run stretching to six matches, drawing just once in that time.

They most recently lost 2-1 last Saturday against a Northampton Town side that then came to the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Tuesday night and were beaten 1-0 by Noel Hunt’s Royals.

As a result, Rovers sit 12th in the table after 13 games with 17 points and a -7 goal difference.

On the poor run of form, manager Grant McCann had this to say following the Northampton loss:

“We need to suck it up, stay together and be as one. We need to continue to help the players to go out there and perform with confidence and a smile on their faces.”

Midfielder Owen Bailey is their top scorer, bagging five goals and one assist thus far.
