Abraham Kanu’s excellent start to life at Forest Green has been cut short after he picked up an injury against Woking at the end of September.
The 20-year-old centre back initially joined Forest Green Rovers on a season-long loan starting July 24th, with manager Robbie Savage having this to say on the young defender:
“He’s big, physical, can player a number of positions and is a player who comes with good pedigree. He’s got great pace with good technical ability and should add a lot to the team.”
Kanu went on to appear for the National League side ten times between August and September, picking up an impressive seven wins and three draws while averaging almost 81 minutes per game.
However, during the game against Woking on September 20th, the youngster from Sierra Leone had to be taken off after just 15 minutes due to a heavy challenge from a corner.
In the five games since the injury, Forest Green have won only once.
No update has yet been provided on his injury status.
Meanwhile, Goalkeeper Tom Norcott has been recalled from his loan spell at Woking after Joel Pereira picked up an injury for Reading in training.
Norcott, 20, joined the National League side in August on an initial two-month loan which was extended until November after a run in the side that resulted in two wins and two clean sheets in six games.
However, Norcott had to make do with a spot on the bench for the last four games before Pereira’s injury forced Noel Hunt to recall the promising youngster to back-up Jack Stevens for the next few weeks at the minimum.
